As organic September draws to a close here are some of my favourite places to feed an organic beauty habit.
Naturisimo
Top of my list has to be online green beauty destination Naturisimo. Not only do they have a huge range of products but there’s also plenty of focus on British brands, so you can buy local, important to many of us green queens. Delivery is free and prompt, packaging sustainable and recyclable (the dissolvable packing foam is a revelation), and there are natural and organic products to suit every budget. Add to this that you can buy up to five samples with every delivery and you’ll see why it’s my go-to site. And they nearly always have a promotional code so you can bag a discount or freebie with your order.
My most frequently purchased Naturisimo items are The Natural Deodorant Co deodorants, Organic Trevarno eye cream, Green People shampoos, conditioners and suncreams, Nourish Argan Skin Renew Cream and Hurraw! lip balms. They also stock the amazing luxe Brit brands Pink’s Boutique and Aurelia Probiotic Skincare.
If you’re stuck on what to pick from the samples section go for a Vapour Multi-Use Blush. Equally good on cheeks and lips, they’re a great way to build up a collection of colours in small amounts so you’re not wasting a huge pot of something you don’t use every day.
Naturallythinking
For floral waters, shea butter (I gently melt this in an essential oil burner, add a few drops of essential oil and use all over my body and face), organic essential oils and facial oils (every oil you can imagine!) I love Naturallythinking. My only criticism of them is the slightly pricey delivery. But the products are good value, good quality and I come back to them again and again.
Ocado
It may surprise you to see online supermarket Ocado on my list but they have a really good range of organic beauty products! So next time you’re hunting around for something to get you over the free delivery threshold have a browse through brands like Neal’s Yard Remedies, Green People, Skin Blossom and heaps more. My top pick is the Bentley Organic Deep Cleansing Hand Wash with olive, eucalyptus and tea tree.
Riverford
OK, so they’re not a beauty retailer but Riverford organic fruit and veg are up there as part of my organic beauty essentials. Afterall, there’s no point taking all of the toxins out of your beauty regime and ploughing them back in via your food. There’s no doubt in my mind that eating plenty of organic fruit and vegetables is the key to glowing skin. And I have to confess to the teeniest of crushes on Guy Watson. Those passionate weekly missives…swoon.
Happy shopping!
